Every Vets4Pets practice is equipped with the latest in technology, which means we can offer your pets the personalised care they need. My aim for the practices has always been to provide excellent patient care in a friendly, approachable environment where we can help owners make an informed choice about their pet's care. We're very much a family run practice so set ourselves high standards of care for our patients, clients and team. The hen passed away not long after so is at peace now with no thanks to these vets.

Mark is the Practice Manager at both Gateshead and Kingston Park. Mark came on board full time when the decision was made to open Gateshead to help Samantha run the rapidly growing business. Konrad was born and raised in Poland, where he finished graduated in 2014 from Lublin university of Life Sciences.

Meet the team

Ater working for few years in his home country he moved to the UK in 2016 where he now works in both private and charity practices. After 18 months in a mixed practice in Bedford I moved back to the North East where I spent a year travelling and locumming. I then joined a small animal practice where I became senior vet. In 2009 I started locumming again until I opened the Kingston Park practice in 2012. In 2016 I then opened the Gateshead practice with my husband Mark.

I completed my certificate in 2016 in wound healing and management. I then had the very special pleasure to be invited to become a Bandage Angel with The Veterinary Wound Library in 2018. We help advise and deal with all wounds and issues with them, to promote the best wound healing techniques and skills. We help train vets, nurses and practices in good CPD wound healing and advise them on the best course of action to get the patients healed and back to normal as quick as possible. At Vets4Pets we know your pet is a much loved part of the family and you want them to enjoy a long, healthy life. This is why our veterinary teams, made up of animal loving experts, firmly believe in providing the highest level of care and treating every pet they see like they would their own.

I gained my clinical coach qualifications in 2003 to be able to mentor and coach the new generation of budding vet nurses. Jennet was born and raised in Hong Kong, a subtropical city, where she speaks 3 languages – Cantonese, English and Mandarin. She developed interest in working with animals in secondary school and came to UK to pursue her dream. She is qualified in 2017 from the University of Glasgow and joined the team after graduation. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, visiting museums and baking. We also spoke to the local authority safeguarding team about concerns raised with them. We also spoke to one of the providers and to the home’s head of nursing care as well as the chef and a staff member who monitored the environment. We also spoke to the local authority fire and rescue service.

Meals were brought promptly and staff helped people if they needed it. One person said they liked living at the home describing the staff as kind and helpful. Both people we spoke to said staff responded when they asked for assistance when using the call point in their rooms. However, both people said there were sometimes delays in the time it took for staff to get to them. During the inspection visit we tested the call point in one room and found staff responded promptly.

At our last inspection in June and July 2015 we found that there were not always enough staff to meet people’s needs. At this inspection we found there were enough staff on duty. We have, however, made a recommendation to the provider with regards to the ongoing monitoring of staffing levels.

During the lunchtime we used our SOFI tool to help us see what people's experiences at mealtimes were. The SOFI tool allows us to spend time watching what is going on in a service and helps us to record how people spend their time and whether they have positive experiences. This includes looking at the support that is given to them by the staff.
